What is research-creation?
Research-creation is an approach to research that engages artistic expression, scholarly investigation, curiosity, and experimentation. Simply put: the process of creation is integral to the research process. In practise, this means that research topics are selected and explored through a creation process, for example, a film or video, dance, performance, installation, sound-work, zine, recipe, and/or multimedia arts/texts.
Taking this as our point of departure, we are a community of scholars, researchers, artists, practitioners, makers, crafters, players, and question-askers. Together, we experiment, teach, un/learn, and transgress using research-creation.
